My Vision

I thought maybe it would be a good idea to give a background of how I have gotten to this point. I became a Christian when I was 8 years old at GA Camp. Since then the road has definately been bumpy, but good. I am sure of my salvation in Jesus Christ. I am also very aware of how if I depend on myself instead of the Lord for anything, I tend to fail. I am thankful that I was raised in a church where missions was emphasized. I have been interested in missions for as long as I can remember. I think it's because missions is so opposite of what the world tells us is good and successful. But from a Biblical perspective, it is what we as Christians are called to. While, we may not all be called to overseas missions, we are called to live a life worthy of the calling and to tell others about Christ. Why would we want to keep the greatest news ever as a secret? I rejoice in looking back at the past few years and seeing the Lord's hand on my life. For the past four years, I have felt a pull towards missions and missions in Africa. In college, I was able to go on a short term trip to Durban, South Africa. It was an amazing trip. It opened my eyes to how small I am and how big God is. It also placed a desire in my heart to return. I know that it may seem odd for a girl from Alabama to go live in Nigeria. But I am trusting that the Lord's plan is good. I know one thing is for sure. Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners. Praise the Lord that He has saved me and praise the Lord for the opportunity to share this wonderful news with the people in Nigeria.
